Janoel 24 incubator/first time incubating

Did you adjust your settings or leave it on the factory settings? I left mine alone, but I am very nervous about it.

I left the factory settings until day 18 I dropped the temp to 37.5.... today has been a pretty productive hatch day for me.. although keep in mind my final results will be affected by the fact I was incubating shipped/postal eggs.... I originally set 24 eggs.. and along the way tossed 11 of them... 2 were very early quitters, 1 was a oozing explosive egg, the rest were clears probably down to the fact they were shipped eggs and other forces of nature and not down to incubation. I used 2 of my own thermometers and the incubator kept the temperature pretty much spot on and has remained stable through out.... today is day 21 of incubation and so far I have 5 healthy little silkie chicks, 2 Cuckoo maran bantams and a little Japanese bantam poking its beak through the shell.... 5 eggs are still not doing much yet but there's still time.. so far I'm quite pleased with the results... I didn't expect 100% hatch rate from Ebay eggs.

With my first hatch I left it on factory settings and my hatch rate was about 60% I had 20 eggs and 12 hatched. This time I set it on 37.8 the whole way through and got 90% hatch rate, out of 7 I got 6 successful hatches, I believe it would have been 7 because the 7th pipped, but pipped through a blood vessel and unfortunately died

. Just make sure with the janoel that when you go to up humidity that the lid is sitting properly, sometimes the front and back edges come in just a little bit letting air in and therefor the humidity isn't great, I fixed this with good old duct tape around the lid and the base

. Good luck, it's so exciting.

Thanks so much!
Day 19 and out of 24, 14 went into lockdown and the first little lady has already made her entrance!
Now to be patient for everyone else. Ha - I think I will run to town because otherwise I may go crazy!!!

Wow, it really has been a busy time! Today is finally day 21, but I only have 3 that haven't hatched yet - but they have pipped so it won't be long!

First little lady came only 12 hours after lockdown! She was all by herself for almost 24 hours - it was hard to watch her be so lonely! Pecking at the condensation on the side and peeping at her reflection...but everyone assured me she was okay and to leave her so I did.

4 more on day 19, 3 at the end of day 20, 3 on the morning of day 21 and 3 that have pipped!

First time incubating eggs for me

I'm using a cheapie Chinese 24 egg incubator although if they were large fowl eggs I think 24 would be a tight fit in it I have 12 Silkie eggs (a mix of colours.. paint, black carrying paint gene, gold, white, partridge and more), 6 black Japanese bantams, 2 Vorwerk bantams, 2 sablepoots (porcelain and milefleur), 1 cuckoo maran bantam and a mystery egg (the last 6 were a pick and mix bantam selection and I can't read the writing on the final egg lol) all were ebay eggsfrom sellers with good follow up so I'm being optimistic and hoping for a good hatch anyone else expecting hatches on 21st July?

I am thinking about ordered a couple of these. Can you tell me how you like it? Does it regulate the temps and humidity well and hold steady? Hows your hatch rates? And does the turner work well?

Can anyone help please I have the janoel24 and can't get my temp in my bator to go up its staying on 35 what the best settings please as they don't make sense to me
