I will be honest, the manual instructions are terrible!

I picked my eggs up this morning, we’re laid on the weekend!

Was told Thursday at the latest to put them in!

Have added some photos of what the manual says.
Okay so you have plenty of time to get the incubator running for a few days. That's a good thing!

I have a different incubator and when my light blinks that means it's off temp and it's heating up. Id just watch it so you can learn it before eggs even go in.

So, I should turn back on now, leave on overnight, add my thermometer and hygrometer tomorrow and see if it is correct, all goes well, add eggs on Wednesday.

Shall it turn it off before adding the eggs on Wednesday or leave it go and add whilst running?

Leave it running the entire time. I ran mine 2 days before and left it running.

Are you hand turning or does it have an automatic turner?

Great. It has an automatic turner. But once a couple of chicks have hatched I am to remove the egg tray which will then stop the auto turning!

Do I then have to hand turn or not touch as they are starting to hatch?

I'd remove the turner or shut it off on day 18. You don't want eggs turning after day 18, it'll confuse the chicks on where they need to pip on the egg.

I turn mine off and remove it with the eggs in it then I carefully place all the eggs on their side in the incubator. I don't open the incubator at all from day 18-21.

Do you have a flashlight to candle with? If you don't, get something with a lot of lumens.

What color are the eggs? Darker eggs are harder to see through.

Did they tell you the breeds you're hatching?

You're going to have so much fun!

I got Bearded silkie eggs. They are very very light shell! A little torch cane with the incubator. So I do have one of those.

At what stage do you candle?

Once again, sorry for the dumb ass questions. Would prefer to sound silly than fry my chicks!

They're not dumb, trust me. I only know all this because I asked the same questions.

I would candle at day 7 since you're doing it for the first time. You'll be able to see more at day 7.

I do day 7, 10, 14, and 18.

I look for blood rings, no veins, clear eggs, and no movement.

I remove bad ones every time I candle. I mark ones that may be bad with a symbol I'll remember so I'll check those first next candling. If they're clear at day 7 that means it's not fertile.

Just make sure you're fast in and out. Open lid, grab an egg, shut the lid, candle the egg, return the egg... Repeat

Don't leave the lid open for long periods of time because it'll make the incubator overwork itself and can make it overheat the eggs.

What do you sit your eggs on to candle them?

You are a legend. I will continue to ask as I start the process and will let you know how I am going!
