Hi Purple! Thankyou, how are you getting along with the Brinsea cabinet? I have a friend who wants to sell his, quite cheap too but he is very hap hazard in how he does things and I really don't think he will have looked after it well. Maybe I would be better buying a new one? Pros and cons with it?

Hi Yorky. So far so good. I have only have it fired up for about 10 days. It keeps a steady temp in my old drafty farmhouse...which is amazing! Humidity is not too bad either. I did buy the humidity pump but haven't needed it yet.

Cons are...you can fit a lot of eggs...!

I am pleased with my investment in the cabinet. I can't wait until my chickens are producing. I also can't figure out how to hatch in there....with a staggered hatch!

Ok...so, I just candled...

Brinsea mini set 1/5
2 clear
4 silkies developing & 1 buff orpington

Set 1/5 in Hovabator then moved to cabinet:
11 silkies developing
2 crele Orpington
15 blanks

Poopy eggs set 1/8
7 silkies developing
2 crele
17 clears

1 buff orpingtons

Set 1/10 farmer Brown mystery eggs:
14 out of 31 developing.

So far...so good!!! Looks like the mini was doing well!

anks so much, the girls were disappointed

but I think I can make up. They are keeping a couple more ee's at least it will all me to see how they grow out.
