No, none have hatched yet just the two pips but then again they are only day 19. Other polish I've hatched have always started hatching day 20 so hoping for some fuzzy butts tomorrow. Sorry about your 7 you had to throw

Congrats to those that have chicks hatching! It's so exciting and rewarding!

This morning I have 6 fluffy butts drying off, 11 eggs with pips (at least 3 of those are zipping), and 5 quiet eggs. I think all but 1 of the ones that pipped yesterday morning are hatched. The one that hasn't looked a bit funny and I thought maybe it wasn't going to make it. I don't see a beak sticking out from the pip but rather feathers so I'm thinking it turned to zip and forgot where it's pip was or something. Anyway, this hatch is going so well, we are only on day 20 and have all but 5 hatched, zipping and pipping! So far only 1 black one (the mystery leghorn)!

Here's what I am taking away from this 2nd hatch... I like the egg carton hatching, at least 1 of mine pipped in the back and if I had laid it down it may not have made it out. I couldn't get 4 eggs in the carton so they are laying down, 1 was the first to hatch and the other 3 are getting knocked around a lot. And the 2nd thing is that I don't have to stress over every little detail, these eggs didn't get turned 3 times a day for all 18 days and they are doing fine. No one was here to keep a close eye on temp or humidity for several days. 3rd thing is that weighing the eggs was very helpful. On day 14 I realized my eggs were generally not losing enough weight so I stopped adding water for the last 4 days and I really think that is what helped. And last I am not opening the lid for anything until Monday or until all the eggs hatch whichever comes first. I have a feeling today is going to be super busy! You'll find me in front of the incubator!

My crazy little eggs are on lockdown. I fit more into the Brinsea mini bc I know that can keep a steady temp here. The other 6 silkies and 3 Orpingtons are in the Hovabator for hatch.

I was supposed to set them last night but I had a hen pass and found another passing blood. Unfortunately, these were the beautiful white silkies I just bought in Florida on New Years. I am heartbroken. However, yesterday also was a celebration of living through the trip home from dmv with my daughter for her bday.

So, all is going along here. Going to try and figure out what's going on with my 3 month old silkies. I started them on Corrid. Hopefully, that will end this.
