January 2016 Hatch-Come Join Me

Mine didn't ever wiggle noticeably. #2 Just worked her way out of the shell. Will wait for her to totally dry and then take her and #1 out to the broader in the barn. In a lunch cooler, protected from the 5' temps out there. #2 is a FBCM and a Welsummer cross. I THINK. LOL. She could also be a FBCM and BCM cross like #1.

Two pipped so far! I added more warm water to the reservoirs and I'm going to bed. I'll check in the morning so it will be all hands off! Tomorrow I'm going and picking up a plastic tub to place the chicks in if I have success

4 hatched, several pipped and several rocking.
The waiting is KILLING ME!

I haven't opened it at all yet, don't want that humidity drop to shrink wrap the others before they get out.

Day 20. I think I heard tapping and cheeping from the eggs this morning when broody got up to eat. I think the little bantam egg is moving a little. Very exciting. Fingers crossed for them.

Well today is day 20. Some of the eggs are still showing some wiggling, some are not. I don't hear anything so I do not think they have pipped inside the eggs yet (I have never actually heard chirping in an egg yet...so still nervous the same thing is going to happen like last time). Humidity is still as follows, internally one says 58% and the other inside says 65%. And the incubator itself (Farm Innovators 2200 Circulated) says it is 70%. Do you guys think that is ok? Should I add more humidity? The temps vary as well. The Incubator temp says 96 but it has been there since the beginning, and my two internal ones say 100 degrees.

I HATE WAITING!

It's nice having two other people on day 20 as well :) Well my lone egg doesn't seem to have internally pipped yet. I keep trying to tell myself that s/he may be born a little late because s/he is a big breed. Momma was a Red Ranger.

Day 21 for me. 9 hatched, 5 or more pipped, lots more rocking.

Would love to have over 50% my first time, then I can do some modifications for next time.

Leave them be. There really isn't a whole lot you can do after lockdown, other than keeping things fairly steady. IOWs, don't muck with temperatures or humidity during lockdown other than to keep it the same. Remember, eggs can hatch up to day 24, rarely even day 25...so be patient and keep your hopes up.
