This is my first try, also. I got an incubator for Christmas, as did my granddaughter. We're due to hatch the 21st. I have 9 Delaware eggs in mine. She has two Delaware and 6 others.
Ok everyone can laugh at me. My eggs are in lockdown. They went in at 8pm last night. So I keep going in and looking at them. I have a flashlight to see better. I am on the phone with my friend looking at them not touching and I think I see one moving so I start whispering. Run to my daughters room and am whispering to her too. Guess what it wasn't moving it was the light. They laughed at me for whispering. They asked me if I was trying to not disturb the little ones.
I am actually quite surprised, out of 12 eggs I put in the bator, so far I have 9 healthy chicks. It's still not too late on the other 3. The reason for my surprise is that I have relatively young rooster. He seems to know what he's doing!
I may post picks later. For those that this was your first time, how did you hatch go?
