January Hatch-a-long 2018

Pics
I still have my 3 eggs that are due the ,11th and 2 on the 16, it seems they have been in the incubator FOREVER! but they will keep me busy until my other eggs hatch on the 25.

thanks how do i get it down i just added water will that make it go up
Don't add water for a while and wait for it to evaporate out. Also opening your plug holes will make it drier. See what the humidity is inside the incubator when it's completely dry. If it's around 30% when it's dry then you'll just add water close to lockdown.

Candled again today, Day 8. Out of 10 eggs remaining: 6 growing and active, 2 definite blood ring (not quite ready to purge), and 2 still questionable. Overall I'm very happy with this batch of shipped Marans eggs.

I've organized them in the incubator by viability. That way I can easily grab and candle the ?'s without disturbing the others. I'll candle them all and check air cells at Day 14.

Anyone else candling this weekend?

View attachment 1226532 View attachment 1226534 The first pic are the eggs from my coop, I am giving my young LO roosters a chance to prove their worth.

The second are mail order eggs, it took just one day to receive them. All aircells were they should be, no cracks, the order was 15 + ,(i got 18) 3 diff breeds or more, I got 5 diff kinds, and 2 I requested, one breed I always wanted, the blue marans (dark egg with M)The white GS eggs are Golden Spitzenhauban (swiss bird with a crest), the SL upper egg are English silver laced orpingtons, the AC is Ayam cemani, an all black bird, PV stands for Pavloskaa a golden russian bird with a crest.
LOVE your eggs from your coop!

I will candle mine in five days too! I’m so excited to see if I have anything growing! I know I’m doing everything right it’s just hard for me to get my head around me actually bringing life into the world through an egg! I’m so excited but I’m not trying to have huge expectations.
