I was given the same book for Christmas! Haven't had time to read it in detail yet, though. I would also love a mini review.

i love to get chicken books but byc really gives you all the info to lol i still read has many chicken books has i can and i get on byc about a 100 times a day lol

View attachment 1237922 Here is my plan... on the 22nd I will candle for lockdown, I have been told to take down the metal egg holding dividers, so they don't get caught in them. My incubator is only 1/2 full, and is divided in 2 sections, so when I candle I will put the advanced developed eggs on one side, (ones that look like they may hatch first,) and ones that look like they need more time on the other, (so eggs till not get kicked around during hatch.)

Great idea! Or another thing you could do is put all the eggs on one side and after they hatch move them with lightning speed to the other side where they can cheer lead on the side without playing soccer. Lol. Just an idea.


My lockdown is on my birthday! (January 31) I’m so excited! I also can’t wait to candle to see how they are doing.

Are they dark eggs by chance? Sometimes you can't see a darn thing on those for a while. I hope you have more than you think.

I wish, they are Silver-Laced Wyandotte eggs and they're a tinted cream egg. I left anything in that was questionable and am hoping for the best, but I think it's gonna be a small hatch.
