January Hatch-a-long 2018

I love the still over the air!! I just took some of mine out of the fan bator, the 1558 hova..to put into the still that I just hatched my littles in. I'm going to have to use it again though, because I am getting replacements for those that ended up being more than half..not fertile! Nice folks to replace. Why don't you like the still...it does take some used to tweaking at times. Guess I'm used to it. Holds the humidity much longer than the fan bators.

I think it was just that I ordered something and got something else that I didn't expect. Something that I knew nothing about. That's all. Like I literally know nothing about a still air incubator. I just was worried, that's all.

I don't think I posted all of my babies.

In total, I had 11 silkies hatch, and 1 died in the waterer unfortunately before I fixed it where they couldn't die that way. I was adding more eggs into the incubator during that time and got distracted. I didn't think that they would go for the water and sure enough that borderline chicky that I was worried about went straight for the water. I was gutted. But lesson learned, and believe me .. won't happen again.

My status update: Went into lock down on the evening of the 18th- all eggs looked healthy and showed movement. Temp + humidity have been good and steady since. Now just waiting and fretting.

On Thursday I was cursing myself for set eggs in the middle of the week cause I had to go to work and couldn’t be there to check on things. Hindsight I’m glad I wasn’t here cause I would be stressing the whole time.
