January Hatch-a-long 2018

Pics
If they pip they usually zip, the hatch book says a chicken can pip 48 hrs before they are ready to hatch, chicks in the egg pip BEFORE they are ready to come out. As long as there is an air hole don't worry, if chicks can be shipped 3 days w/o food or water, they can stay in an egg that long too.

Double posted? :idunno Anyway, I have 2 pips. And now, I'm hearing a lot of chirping going on. Pretty cute. It's been a while hatching done my injury, then surgey. Can't wait, will probably have a couple of babies tonight. Here are the pips, of course they are in the eggs with the best air cells.

Update on my hatch: My 1st pip hasn't made any progress (maybe a malposition?) And my 2nd has zipped about halfway. No new pips so far.
I'm a snatcher. Don't like them moving other eggs around. No zipping yet in my 2, but it's still early. You never know. Some pip, zip, and hatch within an hr. Most though, will take a nice big breath and wait for things to absorb. Hatch day for mine are tomorrow.

Lots of activity in the last 12 hours. Found my first pip at 4am and second by 6 am. Didn’t look like much progress when I went to the store here a half hour ago 2pm so I put my IPod on top of the incubator and played videos of cheeping babies. Must have kicked things into action. I came home to a new hatched baby and 4 additional pips! YAY!!!!!:celebrate:wee:ya
