So, who's due to hatch this week? I've lost track. We'll be rooting for you!

Is anyone candling this week at 7 or 10 days, 14 days, & 18 day? Any "lockdowns"?

I plan on candling this week on day 7 for me which will be Thursday. That is if I can wait that long! This is going to be a long week! Good luck to everyone else!

I have 3 eggs due on Sunday/Monday of next week so they go into lockdown on Friday then on Friday I also candle my big set of eggs on day 7!

I will be candling on thursday too thats day 7 for me as well ....I have had a few temp jumps to like 102 and down to 97.8 and my humidity has been in the low 50's this time last time it was low 40's is all this gonna be ok?????

Hahaha Thursday is day 7 for me too....although I've already tried my hand at candling mine. Didn't look like much, but I did find a cracked one that I couldn't even tell was cracked until I saw it with such intense light. The crack is barely even visible in normal light, looks like maybe it bumped into another egg a little hard when I was turning them, maybe. Any chances of that one making it, or should I just toss it?

so it looks like if all goes well I will be hatching the first batch on the 28th 2nd batch 29th 3rd batch 30th and the three turkeys are due the 4th !!!lol crazyness.......

Put a thin coat of candle wax over the crack. I broke an egg by dropping it, put wax on it, incubated it, then tried to scrape some of the wax off so it could pip, and crushed the top and caved in the air cell. Here is the chick ten days later, appropriately named Humpty.

Oops wrong picture (deleted), different problem with that guy. And, my lips are sealed. I am old and get confused.

The wax egg was from my Mille Fleur D'Uccles hatched on Christmas. Here is the pic of the wax on the egg:

Here's the chick when he found out what I had done.

Here he is 3 days later. The far right with the dark spot on his beak.

I just did my 10 day candling; ONE is developing, 15 are clear, many with blood rings. They were all awfully clean on arrival... could they have been washed and caused this? I hoped to get at least a quad from this.
