January Hatch Buddies?

So I have a really stupid question....

If I set the eggs in the incubator on the 23rd is my lock down day the tenth? With an estimated hatch date of the 13th?

The incubator is Styrofoam, the box in cardboard. I can put them in an egg carton though...

Would it be better to put the eggs in a quail carton on the ground? That way they would be in the same position as in the egg turner?

I woke up to 2 FBCM and the 1 silkie....except. It's a showgirl!

Nowhere was the word showgirl, naked neck etc used in ordering these eggs! So out of $35 I get one bird and its the wrong kind. I know shipped eggs are a gamble but.... *sigh*

The good news is that 2 of Eddie and Coppers eggs hatched and I'm going to try that metzer vent sexing technique on them!
