January Hatch Buddies?

I hatched one! Out of 85 eggs, I am happy with 1! Better than none!

I think it is a Lavender Ameraucana, I got these 15 eggs from Daisychick and she has a Lav Roo over black hens with 1 Lav Hen.

I don't care what it is! It is my chick and all its parts work and it grows stronger by the minute!

I still have 4 eggs that still have potential in this batch, it is only day 22, and I locked down three eggs tonight and candling showed ALL 3 DANCING

Which breeds are these? - any of your projects? or more Barnies? Good luck! Any pics?

These are all projects

The 2nd generation "Blues" and 3rd generation dark cornish crosses. They are still in the bator, so it's hard to take pictures, but I'll post them as soon as I take them out. So, far I have 16 chicks and more on the way.

My Barnie girls are just starting back up laying and I'm culling down to the best breeders before sending out any eggs.

The first four blue crosses: girl /boy /girl /boy (going by breast down color)

It's hard to tell if they are blue laced or black laced, but I think these four are blue because they have more grey/blue in their fluffy butts and under their necks.

On a side note, I hatched some eggs for the second time in clear plastic "strawberry" produce containers. The "clamshell" kind. It works great to keep the different breeds or colors seperate in the bator. You can keep from mixing up bloodlines. For example, if you want to hatch 6 eggs from one hen and keep track of her offspring, you simply put her eggs in one container and they stay seperate from the rest. You wait for all the viable eggs to hatch and then you simply lift the box out of the bator. The only bad part is that the containers take up lots of room.. But, it's worth it to keep track of who's who
