January Hatch Buddies?

I have a question... I know it might seem dumb to some of you experienced hatchers, but is day 16 a little early for an egg to be rocking? I was adding some water into my trays this morning and I noticed that one of the eggs was rocking so hard it almost looked like it would fall off the auto turner... Is that normal? I'm taking it as a good sign since I haven't been able to tell anything when I candle them. It was the only one moving.. so I don't think the turner would be the cause. Any thoughts?

#2- DON'T BUY FROM EBAY, PERIOD..
#3- If the person is a member on here, check their feedback or previous sales record, if they don't have one, or this is their first time shipping eggs, don't buy them, EVER!!
#4- If you can, buy ONLY local eggs and eggs you set yourself.. You will have MUCH MUCH MUCH better hatch results than with shipped eggs, and building a local bird community is far more important than buying online.

Its definitely not your egg turner, that is probably the best investment (besides the new more accurate incubator) that you made. MUCH BETTER HATCH RESULTS!!
I Agree with the temps answer.. Your temps are running high or you humidity is too low, which is allowing your porous egg to evaporate water much quicker than normally deemed "necessary" for the development process (21 days at 99.5 degrees). This means that your chicks are developing much quicker than they should be. You may want to add more humidity to slow the process, but remember, every egg is different, and some hatch way sooner than others. I set 48 eggs on 12/19/2010, i sent 35 of them into lock-down on 1/6/2011 and i had one fully hatch last night!! day 19 1/2. i have 8 more pipped through the shell, and will probably zip by mid-day. I will probably have at least 10 chicks hatched a full 24 hours before their 21 days.. Been a crazy hatch for me..

update... Out of my eight coro split sussex that went into lockdown all pipped, 7 hatched but only 5 survived.

I have 6 coro splits and 6 red buff split sussex due tomorrow. Today I have 1 pip in a RBS.

These are small shipped pullet eggs so I am just a tad bit apprehensive!

I had about 30 Coturnix hatch out and I have a silkie pipping now...Day 20... Got a few goober chicks to come out,cant wait to see what comes out....Goober chick=something out of a buddies pen where he has Crele OEGB and white silkies...lol... Still have a load of Coturnix from NYE,silkies/OEGB/and 8 turkey eggs and almost 500 Coturnix that went in a couple days ago.

On another note...My Opal OEGB started laying for me yesterday

So I hope to have some eggs for the bator soon!!

I'm setting some Blue/Black/Splash Orpingtons tonight so they'll be due the 29th. My big blue rooster Suede isn't getting any younger and since he's been friskier than usual in the last couple of weeks, this may be a good time to set eggs. Fertility in that pen goes in and out and right now, seems it's in.

As long as I'm incubating, I put 7 Delaware eggs in there, too. Why waste space, right?

ETA: Added three eggs, one from each of the Blue Orp girls and my Meg's --for those who don't know Meg, she is my big RIR/Buff Orp cross hen.
So there are 13 BBS Orps and 7 Delawares.
