January Swap Chatter

I can't wait for it to warm up. I am not getting enough eggs on a reliable basis to swap

My goose just started laying though. Crazy! I have a few EEs laying every other day or so but everyone else is taking a winter break. I love my chicks from the last swap I did and am hoping to swap again later on.

In my experience, it seems like eggs that are going north and south or south and north do better this time of year. I sent some to PA from KY, and they didn't do any good at all. I have gotten some from TN and SC that arrived just fine.

The only 100 per cent hatch my Coppers came to me in below zero weather, as long as they don't freeze, I think they fare better than when they get stalled in transit and get too warm.

well the first batch of eggs i got from my silkies i had an eggs to freeze and bust a crack down the side i thawd reseald i put it in the incubator anyway and it formed a chick. so idk and plus its not like there going to be outside strapped to the hood of the postal truck LOL! im not take orders on my eggs right now anyway so its a personal lossright now any way but there laying pretty good right now im getting 4 eggs a day and thats out of 5 birds laying but the 5th hasnt started laying yet.

As long as you all think it's okay, I'll try it. I have this weeks eggs to pitch into the box just in case. I'll go get another heat lamp for the girls so they won't freeze up on me. Sorry...never shipped eggs before.
