I’m curious as to how many people like their Japanese bantams? I’m looking into getting some in the spring and would like first hand knowledge of how well they are liked. Thanks so much!! I have Silkies and love them!!

I have had Japanese bantams and do have serama bantams that have Japanese bantam ancestry. Both are terrific little birds. The serama are much more docile and tame. My avatar is a serama pullet brooding her first clutch. If it's pets, hobby you want and not eggs and meat consider serama though I like the Japanese bantams too.

Below are some pics of my serama.

I'M hoping about getting into raising chickens. Eggs I love them they don't like me fresh eggs don't bother me as much. I have no desire to do butchering myself.. So thanks for letting me know these little giants

I have a Japanese bantam rooster, and he’s one of the sweetest chickens I’ve ever owned! I’m obsessed with him :) I’ve never had hens, so I can’t speak to how they are to keep. It’s all about how they’re raised, any chicken can be super friendly if they’re raised to be that way.

Half my serama are so tame they're a nuisance at times; ever try chasing tame chickens into a coop. If there wasn't so many it would be much easier to pick them up and put them in the coop; which I just did with the rooster. I don't have any Japanese bantams right now, but the serama are very similar in appearance and personality.
