Yipee!

My new BTW hen took best of breed at the show in Little Rock out of 20 entries. I have eggs and chicks, but not out of her. She was recently obtained from Jerry Carter, who got her or her line from Marty Abrahamsen. My younguns also came from stock from Jerry Carter, but from a different line. I am having trouble with fertility, but I am getting ready to do some serious feather plucking/trimming and see if I can't fix that. I also have some chicks from my mottle frizzle roo x barred and mottled hens.

My new Black tailed white Jap bantam chick:

This little guy is CRAZY does everyone else have trouble with this breed not being very docile?

Over the past few days he has started to calm down a little.. but 'she' is very active and likes to try and fly. she ha a much differnt peronality than mot of the chick i have raised before.

just wanted to share photos of my first short legged grey japanese bantam chick of 2010! i only set the 1 egg (with other kinds) as it was the first my ladies laid this year, and as i had other eggs ready to go in the bator i set it to! i have 4 other grey jap eggs due next week, heres to hoping for some buddies for this dude(ette?).

you can see how tiny it is next to a mottled cochin bantam chick that it hatched with
