Japanese Bantam Thread!

Aw so cute. How old is the egg laying chicken? Im patiently waiting for my JB pullet.
I bought them November 31st and they were suppose to be a month old or at least that is what I agreed on and these are what I got I think they are 5 or 6 months old. I am not sure of there age do to us not raising them. I will keep track of the age and any others we get when we hatch so I know. We didn't get and egg yesterday but I figure we will today.

My JB pullet is 18 weeks So I know its time to start keeping a look out but I dont expect and egg for at least anoth month. SHe is just my first Bantam so I dont know when they typically lay. Congrats on your egg though. SInce you didnt raise yours do you find them to be skittish? I bought mine at 6 weeks old and they like me(tolerate me) but I cant move fast get too close pet them or pick them up. I dont like this behavior because all my other chickens are so overly friendly and use me like a jungle gym lol.

editted to appologize for my typo it was supposed to say Skittish

Are aren't to bad they are starting to look at us when we go out and call the other chickens so they are starting to figure out when I call they are suppose to come. When we check eggs we open a door to the nest boxers and they can be in the coop and just look at us but don't run. They use to when we first got them. I think it is a thing they go through. My neighbors have a white bantam and she is all over them and very social and they didn't raise her they got her at 6 months and had her for a month before she even looked like she was going to lay.
