Our very first mollted Japenese Bantam chick to hatch out. I wing sexed it and it was 2 different length so it should be a hen. It does have a black spot on its head you can kind of see it on the back of the head the chick is more fluffy today.

So Japanese Bantams are one of the breeds you can wing sex? If so that's great as I have a few in the bator now & once this batch is all hatched I will be setting a bunch of jb eggs
I don't know if they are or not but we will see when this one gets a little bit bigger

Are you sure this bird is mottled? It looks like white from the down color.Our very first mollted Japenese Bantam chick to hatch out. I am sure it is molted it is getting its wing feathers in and they are black. Everything i have read about molted and looked at pictures from different hatcheries and breeders they are suppose to look like that. Plus I got the two hens and the rooster from a really good breeder and that is all I have in there is the 2 hens and the rooster, in a couple weeks i will post pictures of it when it gets more feathers so you can see.

Very happy that the District JBBA has been awarded to Lawrence County Poultry Club on Nov. 30, 2013 in Lawrenceburg, Tn.
So my 3 first eggs from my JB ladies have been in the incubator for 12 days now & are moving around in their eggs like crazy!!! Can't wait for hatch day!

Oh GLad to hear that! I have my JBs first 3 eggs in the incubator also on day 6
