japanese bantams - chicken or roo? Any guesses?

My neighbor's kids used to show Japanese Bantams in 4-H so I'm guessing that the original show birds were all true Japanese birds? The kids grew up, stopped showing 4-H but the birds remained. I know these are not the originals. My neighbor also has lots of others chickens; most are Australorps and few other breeds thrown in there. All egg and meat birds. Apparently, chickens really don't care about sticking to their own breed when it comes to barnyard hanky panky!

I have a question too, I think 2 of my Bantams are Japanese but I don't know what the peach colored one is? Do Japanese come in that color too...

Good luck finding Barred Rock bantams.....

I'm still on the search for Barred Cochin bantams...I have 2 roos waiting on girls!

But I did run across (and of course, brought home) Dominique Bantams...they are awesome...got some of their first eggs hatching in the next few days!!

the peach colored one looks like a washed out black tailed buff. However, I believe they are supposed to have yellow legs.

The peach colored one doesn't have any black in his tail like the orange colored one does. Does the Japanese Bantam breed only have yellow legs?
