japanese bantams!!

I have Blue tailed white roo with a splash hen, a Barred roo with black-tailed white hens. Last year I raised a roo from barred X crele hen, he looks really more mottled, but I am trying to get some crele japs, I had later lost my crele hen. Wish I had some pic loaded on the pc to show you them. My hens are very tame and the roos are more stand offish.

thx for the compliments! i do love them, they are my nicest quality birds and i will keep on with them regardless of popularity. i just love em

wow some nice japs on that wesite (from the show)! wish my black tailed whites were that nice (gorgeous roo in the pic)! though they are only 6 months and getting prettier all the time! still wont be that quality.

they do lay very poorly in my exp, so that is probably a reason for being less popular, spring/summer i was lucky to get an egg every day or two from 2 hens.

I've had some raised by hens and some that I raised in a brooder and I can't really tell a difference in their temperments at all. I've heard alot of others, even locally that say their jas are skittish and flighty. I'm wondering if thats one of the reason their not that popular. I personally got them for their looks, I've also noticed they dont lay as much as my others. Its bee 2-3 months since I've gotten an egg from my 4 hens.

Mine were hatched in the incubator.

I forgot, I also have two black tailed buff hens. They are currently in my mille fleur Japanese project and I had forgot all about them. Still have not found any more hatching eggs so that I can get a roo for them.
Now my btb layed pretty well but the btw only laid about 20 eggs this year.
