Japanese Beetles

Anyone seeing Japanese Beetles flying yet? I am prepping elevated pens for juvenile chickens to take advantage of the the beetles attracted to lures. This year I will have enough chickens to eat all the beetles we can lure into barnyard area.

So starting. I have no pheromone bait out yet so looking for aggregations on plants and individuals in flight.

No aggregations here yet. Just the one individual in flight. I would hold off on the pheromone. I believe it's still a bit early. I would imagine we'll start seeing more in a couple weeks.

Seeing plenty on the zinnias here in SC.

I saw ten on a small Peach tree. Also appear to be hitting them sparsely while driving. Time to get juvenile chickens penned in open area.

Northen GA! YES!! They are decimating my cherry and berries! They've been here for a few weeks.

Starting to get damage on my damson tree here in VA. Just now researching about how to rig a trap for chicken yum yums!
