Japanese quail won't eat :(

I wrote a post on byc about my rooster with the same symptoms wasnt real active looked droopy and had runny poo and everyone seemed to of think it was worms he died before I could get to town to get some and find out but it wouldn't hurt for you to try it

If you want to check a bird for worms you can usually find if they have them by swabbing as far back in their throat as possible with a q-tip. Many types of worms will show up there. Worms will come out on the q-tip if they are present. Not all types of worms manifest so high in the throat though, so this isn't a catch all for all types of worms.

Hi all bad news sadly but update on what happened was I tried to feed him things he only ate mealworms for a day or 2 and then he was starting to be a lot more alert more active but then two days ago he had one bad leg then yesterday he had both legs bad couldn't walk shuffled about but the positive was he got even more awake started talking again and started to eat his normal food again was feeling real positive about him recovering I did help him drink and eat by picking him up but he could shuffle about so although he couldn't walk he seemed a lot better not as sleepy went to bed 2am last night woke up this morning checked him and he was dead so I'm upset about that but he was real thin when I checked him bones sticking out head was facing up when I saw him any ideas because I'm puzzled don't quite get what happened?

Oh ye and a few days ago his poop was green it improved and got more normal last night but he died this morning :(

I'd still like to work out what happened with him any info or ideas would be helpful

If you dissect it and take pictures of the inside of the intestines and stomach I can try to help. Otherwise you'd have to send it off for a necropsy with the state. There is a cost for that, it differs state to state. You would need to contact your state dept of agriculture.
