Java Flock

Did these come directly from Garfield Farm or by way of Garfield Farm? I spoke with someone from Garfield Farm a few month ago, maybe as long ago as last summer, and they indicated that the Java breeding program at Garfield Farm wasn't doing to well. Good news if it back on its feet again.

I'm looking forward to seeing pictures.

Have you heard of these guys? I had talked to them 2 yrs ago, I think. The older man was retiring, and the children were taking over. (if my memory serves me correctly)

Duane Urch is the older man and he use to have world class birds.I'm not sure what he has now but he does sell java's along with a bunch of other breeds.I would love for someone to answer that knows what he has now.

I would be interested in getting some Black Javas next year. I set my first Auburn Java eggs 10 days ago. We will see on the 25th.

Comb, Face Wattles and Ear-Lobes: Bright red.
Beak: Horn, shading to yellow at tip.
Eyes: Reddish bay.
Head: Plumage, orange red.

Neck: Hackle, orange red at head, gradually shading to a lighter orange or golden yellow towards shoulders; a black stripe extending down the middle of each lower hackle feather
and tapering to a point.

Back: Rich, brilliant red

Saddle: Lustrous, deep orange red shading to a lustrous lighter orange in lower saddle feathers; a black strip extending down the middle of each lower saddle feather.” Tail:

Main Tail – black.
Sickles and Coverts – lustrous black.

Wings: Bows – rich, brilliant red.
Coverts (bars) – auburn.
Primaries – dull black, lower web may be edged with brown.
Secondaries – dull black, edges of lower webs auburn of
sufficient width to form wing-bay of the same color.

Breast: Auburn with black spangling.

Body and Fluff: Auburn with black spangling.

Shanks and toes: Willow.

Bottoms of feet: Yellow.

Undercolor: Slate.
