I've always wondered how any chickens survive Arizona heat? One member in Phoenix
had an air conditioned coop.

The main keys to surviving excessive heat are good coop ventilation, shade, plenty of fresh water, and the right breeds of chickens (heat ressistant ones). I raised Black Australorps in the northern Sacramento Valley where summer temperatures frequently reached 117-118 F (123F once) and they did just fine in spite of the heat.
