Jefferson, GA show Jan.14th

I have 8 great laying hens, and one roo that are a wonderful little family. I may need to get rid of them and would like them to go to a good home. If there is someone out there that would like a starter flock this would be your best bet. They are all laying, the roo is not aggressive at all.

2 Buff Orpingtons
2 Road Island Reds
2 Production Reds
2 White Rocks
1 Domnique Roo

They are free rangers and stay in the coop at night.

I raised them from babies, except for the roo -- he came to us about 4 years ago as a cockerel.

PM if anyone is interested.

What do I need to bring to the show with me. I know the chicken and food but want do you guys use for the food and water. And what do you put in the cage. Any tips will help first time showing

I always bring a bag of shavings.....they'll have shavings in the show cage, but it's never enough for me. They usually provide the little dixie cups you can use for food and water. I always bring my own food and bottled water...just because it's what my birds are use to. Of course you bring your other necessities like NPIP paperwork, wet wipes, file, comb, etc.....
Good luck

Well, I was going to come to this show but now it looks like I'm not going to make it. My van is stuck sideways at the top of our hill after attempting to drive out on the ice this morning. So I hope ya'll have fun!

Hey Bat Cave Silkies! We drove down to Jefferson, Georgia yesterday afternoon, got there around 6. Enjoyed the pulled pork supper and chatting with everybody Friday night. At the show this morning, Cheyenne got the stomach virus that Kevin and I have had the last two days...well still have. We have the liquids, well I do anyway. She did not get to enjoy the show. Poor thing. She is the one who wanted to go so bad. We had to listen to the judges remarks on the silkies for her. She still did well. She got several BV, RV and RB with her white hen. It still kills me that one judge will give it a Res. Feather Leg and another less. Funny!!! At least Cheyenne Maggart got Res. Feather Leg. Missed seeing you. We got to meet Christina (sp) Duncan from backyard chickens. Her daughter bought our black cochins. Cheynne Maggart and her mom were there. We got to spend some quality time with Cheyenne Friday night. She visited in our hotel room which was next door, on purpose. LOL. Nice show overall, but next year, we will make the time for Newnan or Dalton.

Tonya and Kevin

I'll definitely be at the Morganton show, unless there's some unforseen disaster.

You'll take care, drink plenty of fluids, and rest~~that's the nurse in me!!

Well, Sandy, that is one thing I never knew about you, that you were a nurse. We never asked. LOL. Yeah, we are drinking liquids. I drink water like it is the best thing on Earth. I love water anyway. If you think of other things we can do, please do tell.

Yeah, I am proud of them both. They both really care for and love their birds. Hope to see you in Morganton. We plan to be there. You know we are dedicated showers if we drove to GA for a show with us both having the virus and the possibility of Cheyenne getting it. We felt the contagious part was over. We just felt pretty crappy. Thanks go to Kevin for driving us down there when he did not feel much better from the sickness.
