Is your dog missing a leg?

Yes she is. Her name is Josie Wales, and she's an outlaw, ha ha. She got out of the back yard and chased a tractor going down the road, and a pick-up truck that was behind the tractor hit her. The tires went over her leg and hip. DH saw them hit her an they kept going, he ran out and got her, I ran to them, we rushed her to the vet and they removed her leg at the hip. She almost died a week later, with a hemorraghe but they gave her another surgery and she made. She's our million-dollar baby now!!!

That's crazy that they didn't even stop! I'm glad she made it through it... and she looks healthy!

Oh... and your coop looks fabulous (and so clean!).

I was mad that they didn't stop, they knew they hit her! She is very healthy and a little over weight, the doc told us to quit feeding her so much to keep her from getting arthritis in her good leg. We spoil all of our animals!

Thanks JJ, I don't have to clean the run much really, I have 16 girls in there now but I am adding quite a few more, so I'll probably have to start cleaning it more. I might be adding on to it in the spring to keep the Silkies/Mille Fleurs separate from the standards.

when I first looked at the pics I did not notice that she was missing a leg LOL I also have a 3 legged girl Dixie - she was beaten by some people who lived down the road from us while we were out of town and Dixie managed to get out of the yard - they really messed her up good she is missing her front leg so when she runs she makes this hopping motion - so now we call her pops LOL
I love the coop very cozy almost looks like a play house. I got a few ideas of things I want to put in my chicken run from looking at yours - tree stumps, and the ladder perches.
Love the boxer ! i have 3 with one on the way next month sometime ( she was born on thanksgiving )

Thank you. The tree stumps are from the trees we cut down to make room for the chicken house, I thought they would like them. The ladder perches are good because they don't poo on each other.

Sometimes we call our dog silly names like yardstick cuz she has 3 feet, and tripod and hopalong etc etc.

I love all the pics but I have to say my fav is the boxer !! since I have 3 of them !! whats his/her name - looks fairly young and love the flashy looking white - our flashy girl does not have that much white on her !!
