Good idea lol. Great birds but not worth that much for realistically only 5-7 birds (pullets+one cockerel)

Where do you plan on getting the JGs from? If they are hatchery then you are going to want to get 20+ and you may only get 2-4 decent quality ones that get to a good size

Just saw this buried in my alerts. So I have just two from the hatchery and they're really good specimens (imho), but I'm no SOP judge. But right now I don't have a separate flock for them.

how big? you want them to be 9+ lbs

I don't think they're 9 lbs, but I haven't weighed them lately. About a year ago I brought one into the vet after a dog attack and she was around 6 lbs and 2-3 years old.

The BJGs don't seem very giant, although I've heard many are not.

Yeah they're not much larger than the Buckeyes if at all. They are dominant though.
