Handsome Jersey Giant boy. Unfortunately I can't keep him due to zoning. He is 8 weeks old today. (3rd is his baby picture!)
Loves shoulder time and pets. He is very friendly. I got too attached and cannot cull him myself..
Offering him for free, I just ask that he's given a chance at living a full life.
Located in Citrus County, FL. Willing to drive or meet halfway within reason.
Please send me pictures and info about your setup if interested...

I responded in the Florida thread too but, I am also in citrus county and if I’m allowed to keep roosters where I live I will take him. I have a converted shed into coop, and a 14 x 16 run and I let my chickens free range while I am home. I keep a camera on their coop as well.

I have three pullets at the moment and five in the brooder that are almost ready to transition outside.

Thank you, I just did that.
Me too! This has definitely been the hardest part of owning chickens so far, to me. I wish I could keep them all.
I know, it's terrible to have to get rid of some! I hope you find great homes for him!!

Hello, this is a beautiful setup!
Citrus County does not have a very robust system to research these things. I have done some digging to find all the information I can.
https://gis.citrusbocc.com/address-lookup.html
Here, I was able to input my address and see my zoning.
I only mention this because in Inverness, there's an ordinance that only allows for 4 hens, and no rooster.
I don't know if there's such a thing in Homosassa.
Not saying you have to do it 100% by the book- my neighbors mind their business.
It may become an issue if you have closeby neighbors when the crowing starts.

Hello, Sorry you have to give him away JG`s are great friendly birds! I would take him but I am waaaay to far away! He`s a nice looking bird! Good luck!

I found my zoning, but specifics as far as what is allowed has eluded my search. I am considered “low density residential”. I do have neighbors but the immediate ones are crackheads and don’t sleep anyway (it’s a matter of time before they get evicted) and definitely don’t want to cause problems with me, with all that they got going on. Neighbors across the street I haven’t even seen let alone met. Maybe I should contact the county and ask outright. I’d love to have a friendly rooster!

Oh dear haha! It's complicated to get clear answers. Maybe a call to the county would work best. Anyways, if you are interested in taking him home, you can PM me and we can work out a time and place. :)
