Thank you for the info, I will consider all of it as i make a decision.I've never raised Jerseys, but from what I know of them, they are extremely docile, friendly birds. They are popular show birds even for small children because they are so easy to handle. They do well with other breeds. Dogs and cats, like with any breed, depend on how well behaved the dog and cat are. As I've stated, I haven't had them, but I doubt they'd do well free-range, at least in the predator department. Big, docile birds often either aren't alert enough or fast enough to escape a predator. The best free rangers are small, fast, and usually not good pets as they are highly suspicious of everyone and everything.
Have you ever ate your Roos? If so at what age did you cull them? If it’s 2 years to reach full size I would suspect a really tough bird for the table.I have raised Jersey Giants. They are friendly and the males have a nice deep crow.
They take two years to fully mature. During the first year, they fill out their frame, and only put on their full size in the second year.

You can cull at 2-3 moths or go by weight: 4-8 pounds!Have you ever ate your Roos? If so at what age did you cull them? If it’s 2 years to reach full size I would suspect a really tough bird for the table.
