We have 2 JG hens, they are about 1 year old. We got them from a local breeder, they are not hatchery birds and have some of Maria Hall's line in them.

My question, when do these get to full size? Honestly, the majority of my flock have out sized them, including my 5 month old EE's. The only hen smaller is my Silkie.

I do understand they are slow to mature, but can anyone give me an idea on what to expect?

Thank you!

If I remember correctly, they take between 15-24 month to be at the top of there game. But I'd get an opinion from someone who breeds them.

I'm pretty sure at around two years they get full size, but I also don't have too much experience.

At a year old they should be considerably larger than 5 month old Easter Eggers. Your local "breeder' may be breeding from hatchery stock. Never heard of Maria Hall BTW.

Did the breeder you bought them from birds look like yours? I would be dubious of them being JGs to be completely frank.

If there's a JG breed thread on here, perhaps the breeders there could help you more.

Or a very poorly bred JG. I'll bet there is alot of hatchery lines in them. Do you feed them higher protein feed?

NYREDS, Maria Hall has a good reputation with Jersey Giants.

My Jersey girls are 9-10 weeks old (or thats what I was told when I picked them up) and the size of my MIL's 24+ week old Red Sex-Link girls...
