Oh, I have a question: If I breed my Black Jersey Giant girl to the blue Jersey Giant roo what will I get? Black and blues? Will I get splash? Thanks! Just curious.

These are the different combinations when breeding Blue, Black, and Splash (BBS) birds:

Blue x Blue = 25% black, 50% blue, 25% splash
Blue x Black = 50% black, 50% blue
Blue x Splash = 50% blue, 50% splash
Splash x Black = 100% blue
Black x Black = 100% black
Splash x Splash = 100% splash​

Thanks! So I'll get Black & Blue. The breeder I got these from said he did have splash JG, but he didn't have any right then. I need to get a splash JG now ...

I'm falling in-love with JG!

Are you gonna sell chicks or eggs? I was thinking of hatching chicks and shipping them, as I know alot of people do not incubate.

I may do eggs this year but not chicks. I go to alot of swaps so I can sell the chicks there. I havent posted any eggs for sale as we are still testing fertility here. But I have 17 more in the incubator and my daughter has a bunch so we will see with this hatch.

Would love to Kathy But my computer is down and I am using my sons. I cant upload any pictures on it. We were just talking about that last night as I have an orp chick that I hatched that is really odd color that I wanted to post. We are going to try to see if we can post some pics today I wanted you to see my blues from Sandhill They arent that bad I keep them separate from my other giants but the hens are very good, dark almost black blue and have the yellow only on the bottom of their feet. I am wondering if they blues you got were some of Sandhills culls they do sell some of their experimental birds really cheap, you can get them for like 25 for 15.00 but they arent true to the breeds I have 5 blues from there and none of them look like the birds you posted as from them. I will try to post and lst you know Micki

I'd really like to see your blues from Sandhill too, I remember you had said in another thread yours were pretty nice.
My chicks from Sand Hills are very young yet, but I can already tell just from a glance which are the JGs from the Wyandottes or Cochins, I didn't expect the baby chicks to be so much bigger already!

Nancy here is a few pics of when they were around 5 months I will try to get some today of them but as you can see I think they are very nice I just love how dark some of the hens are.
