Thanks so much for that info and the picture. The tote is a really good idea and seems easy to clean. My husband said he will build them 24x24 since that would be exactly one sheet of plywood per two boxes, and he can use a scrap peice of wood to seperate them.

I have one more JG question, if you don't mind: I ordered 15 pullets, but it is pretty obvious that one of my JG's is a cockerell . If I decide to keep him because I won't mind having just one rooster will he be so big that he would do harm to my BOs and my SLWs?

Here is a picture of two of my JG's the one on the right is the one I think is a boy:

I was wondering the same thing, what do you do with the extra rooster cockerels.
I still eat chicken.

Eat em! They were originally created to be a meat bird. Should be good eatin' !

Nope, can't eat my pets, they all have names. And I am planning to build some roo pens for those left over. I love roos. They may even get a girl friend or two.

With the first batch of JG's I hatched this year, I thought I noticed that some of them were real late in growing the feathers in on their back. They turned out to be boys. Now I have Kathy's JG's and a few of them are still bare backed, just downy. It will be interesting to see if the bare backed ones turn out to be boys, too. The others are feathered in or feathering in on their backs. Of course my 1 splash is in between, and I can't decide either way.
