That sounds great! I am so glad they are docile and friendly. That is how mine are, too. I love big birds, and friendly birds .... these are great for me, because I get both! That is great that you only got 2 roosters!

I have 16 chicks right now, and only 2 are Splash. Still hard to tell the blue and black apart at this point, but I think about half and half. My favorites are the dark blues.

YES, pictures!

Here is "Mr" Jemima at about 14 wks. He was supposed to be she

Anyway, he is very calm, I can pick him up, he comes when I call him, and he eats treats from my hand.

Yep, that pick is just what my Charlotte looks like. Maybe Charles now. Jemima and "Charles" look just the same age and sound very much alike.

Great, I'm going to have to change my name from Rausch Hens to Rausch Hens and Roo.

Oh, another question... When do JG's crow? About what age do they crow or lay?

Another reason I think you have a pullet. Mine has been crowing for a couple of weeks now.
Also, check out the back and the tail. Your chick's back is "flatter" for lack of a better word, and the tail is not held as high as "Mr." Jemima

Charlotte had to prove something to me this afternoon and I just can't believe the timing after just asking when a JG crows. My husband is grilling and calls me out there. A terrible sounding little sound comes out of the coop. Charlotte crowed!!! And again, and again...

I actually love my big blue roo. DS named him Banjo. He is a sweetheart! I need to get a more recent picture of him. He is not yet a year old, and is still growing.

Do you have a black roo? The blues out of the black/blue cross have the most GORGEOUS lacing!

Yes, I also have a black roo in this pen. I just couldn't find a picture of him. He has (had) a perfect comb, too. That is until Banjo bit part of it off! They are perfect buddies now, and work well as a team when out free ranging. It is fun to watch them. Both are so gentle and sweet.

I just hatched, and got some dark blues. I think dark blues are my favorites.
