Jersey Giants thread for pictures and discussion

They're probably a very dark blue, not black. I have one that is such a dark blue, she actually does look black. But hmm...you did say she has a green sheen...Hmmm...can you post a pic of her in good light?

What breeds went into the genetic make up of the Jersey Giants? I know that the white ones were sports of the black but that is about it as far as my knowledge of the Jersey Giants go.

If the birds are too tough to eat by the time they've filled out thhatehat is their purpose? Eggs?

Well they are fun to look at. Better than a goldfish. They eat alot of bugs,Thatch and fertalize the lawn, weed the flower beds,(weed is up for interpretation) and the roo is good for neighbor annoyance.

A TEAM?????
I have a big black JG roo who is afraid of everyone except the EE hen with the bare back, LOL. And a silkie roo who thinks he's head roo bacause he's always policing the flock. My silkies have finally been let out with the main flock and it's been going well. Then I have a BO roo who has decided to lay low and not crow, and he's a bit of a wimp as well. So far it's a good balance. Now I have let the 7 JG's from Kathy out, and I haven't seen anyone mind, even at treat time. Those 7 are 11 weeks old.
