Hi
I know that this breed is very large. But what are the pros and cons of this breed. Btw, I have a suburban home with a medium backyard. I might want one with some other breeds.
Thanks for all the help!

All of your answers can be found here. I have a small suburban back yard, and they did fine - they are my favorite breed. Be prepared, the thread is full of fans of the breed, but then again, there are few negatives to giants. Before you get any breed, take the time to wander through the threads of the ones you are considering. There's a thread for almost every breed. Use the search feature to find it. Good luck!

We have 2 Jersey Giant Hens. They are very quiet. They are ok layers. They seem to be protective of the other hens and our 10 week olds that were recently integrated into the flock. I like them. Because they are so quiet, might be a good fit for a suburban home.

They are a slow maturing bird. Are not supposed to go broody, and because of their large size may break eggs. I chose this breed because I like a giant bird and I chose the black because they are supposed to be less attractive to birds of prey as they look like a very big crow.
