Now for the story behind the scarves: My niece, Anna, is trying to adopt a baby girl who was abandoned in China. She has PKU (as does Anna), which is a disease that if not caught early causes irreversible brain damage. The cost of bringing Fanni home is phenomenal, and Anna has been very busy trying to raise the funds to arrange for the adoption and transport for Fanni. The sooner she can bring this beautiful little girl home, the less brain damage she will have, as she is not currently being treated.
