After crusty...comes the cream puff...cream cheese then leads into cheese cake...Ah heck let's all let loose <<the top button on the pants!>> and have a big ol' cheese cake cook off.
GACK! Been a while...this photo is of two cheesecakes (sans the fruity topping and whipped cream) from March 2012...I do need to make cake...of the most cheesy kind!
I am to bring cheesecake to the son's for Christmas Din...so when that happens, I haul out the three spring pan forms and make a triple batch so we can freeze up two. Use to do that with hatch day cakes...if you gotta make a big ol' mess making one, double it and go nutso. Now you gotta keep a stern persona, you gotta grin politely while you cut slivers up for the invited guests to the birthday party and when the guests go home...look each other in the eye and run for the house...
"You made two right?" implores Rick as we scamper back home...
"Yeh, of course...," I say, "And if I get to the fridge first...I get the edge with the most icing on it..."
That's what is next DD...giving in to cheesecake. It is one of the most highly sought after food groups, right? Cheese being dairy and all...can't get enough dairy and us old crusty broads need our calcium so we don't break limbs and backs. Rick told me he just heard a study that all those calcium pills they THINK we should be taking are really causing great havoc on our bods. We need calcium for healthy bones but from natural sources...cream cheese, sour cream, cream...last night BEFORE dinner, I brought Rick and I a cup and a half of choco pudding with heaps of (going to go bad, good excuse to eat it all in one sitting!) whipped cream. Still grinning at Rick's comment, "Oh look, you've brought us HEALTH foods!" Yeh...yeh, old buggers need our naturally sourced calcium...yes indeedy! Pass the sprinkles, eh!
Whilst looking for my most recent cheesecake click...I found this one too...May 23, 2013...table set for me and a friend (fiend...they drink herbal tea eh!)...
So we have the BOOberry pie, slathered in cream, lots of bird orientated decorations AND for those that prefer...shoves shovels and a bucket if you'd rather out!
Course we shall all hafta subscribe to this then...
Ah yes, winter...comfort food and rolls...not gonna say what kinda rolls, think I have had enough to say on that topic fer today...eh.
EDIT - Cripers...Freudian slip up er what...type out SHOVE...nope, shb shovel...dang it all...get outta my way to the cakes...<<shove, shove>>
Tara, I think if you brought in a forsenic team they would prove that Lacey was fast asleep when the paper got torn and a mysterious hole in the mat appeared. Suspicion seems to be pointing to a canine that doesn't have a top of her confinement area. You know the one with marvelous balancing ability. Obviously she tip toed out of her pen , opened Lacy's area -did damage and then snuck back into her crate- looking like the wonderful angel Tara believes her to be. How about that?
My opinion on the pups are that neither one is any gooder or badder than the other. They are different, but both can be sweet or wicked, given their choice that they make, at any given instance.
Sweet angelic puppers
Evil rotten buggers - the both of them!
Given the correct moment to act and it is a toss up who one would favour over the other...like your own offspring; you don't love ONE any more, or hate even. It is what it is.
Oh lookit the innocent Emmy...
Getting her throat ripped out by Lacy
Oh lookit the sweet puppy...
But don't blink because the next moment...
Bite yer ear...crunch crunch
Bite you back...
Ah such sweet puppers, sharing a drink...so tranquil and fuzzy goodness jest oozing...
And we both try to rip our faces off
And we are both so sweet and pleasant... <hear the flutter of their angelic invisible wings?>
That is until one of the BAITS the other...
With an oh so precious root (and like either party backs down--bring it ON!)
The rivalry between the two pups...when Rick throws the floppy out into the tilled dirt...making the two into DIRT DOGS (much of my whining about not doing it, he never hears it one bit!
)...plow thru the deep dirt...huffing and puffing...jerking and tugging...serious biz this retrieving the floppy for Rick. Serious!
The ongoing contest to see which one hangs on to the floppy the best, dragging the opponent along for the drag-a-thon (tired ACD is GOOD ACD)
But always, there is the sweet kissy face make up time too!
And all is well and good in Pear-A-Dice once more...
So there is no one angel and one demonic entity here...flip flop between moments...topsy turvy between seconds...there is no one gooder or badder...just a mix of things to appreciate and suck up as memories to embellish yer life.
Oft times the bad makes you appreciate the good when it happens...for without both, how would you EVER know one from the t'other?? LIfe would be ever so dull without yin and yang...good with bad, light and dark, & angels with devils.

Well the internet service we have has sucked rocks...but bin a tad bit busy, so yeh...had no time to worry about it till maybe now...
Still got crappy internet service, so will have to see how far I can get to post the Parking Building progression...amongst other distractions.
Let's jest say the only thing now left (hee hee hee...) on the Parking Building to be put up, an mere wimpy task...is the RIDGE CAP. Yeh...you read that right. Full roof up & on, purlins done, metal - done...never mind all the other things completed also!
Oct 14, 2015...the one half ready to be lifted...we had to get a permit for the new service for the house power...so got that and then, then...
Oct 16, 2015 - Pick the roof half up DAY!
Yeh, for you keeners...that is a different truck than the first one. Sign of the times, guy that did the first pick, gone outta biz. Sold truck. Wow, eh...Sept 18 and less than a month later, not there. Lots of trucks to hire, so that's what we did.
And no worries...this knuckle truck worked jest awesome and it was a done deal really quickly.
Next day, Rick got busy...man oh man...did he ever.
Oct 17, 2015
Pretty much got the one half of the roof metal put up, the one side completed.
Next day, he put up the last bit of metal on the first half and then got the other side started up with all the purlins put in...
Oct 18, 2015
Course that meant the weekend was over and Rick had to go back to work...
Oct 18, 2015 at the end of the weekend
But don't let a whole full day of work stop him...he still worked on the building during the week (and other things too).
Oct 22, 2015
Sheet by sheet, the other last part of roof got metalled and when it was too cold or dangerous to be up on a roof, he made busy doing other things too.
Rick do some firewood splitting to tidy things up.
He had to fix the one tire on the splitter (went flat)...so another task unforeseen but completed.
Oh yeh, one whole canopy; the stuff stowed that was in it got put away and then the canopy was dismantled...
This was our second oldest canopy...poor thing don't owe us a single solitary dime for all the time it lasted and the things it has protected!
I cannot convey in words the delight it has been to see all the organization going on. I will NOT be missing the over 200 by twenty feet wide of canopy roofs that I USE TO have to de-snow when the white liquid came down each winter. Ah, that is the sigh of utter relief!
A ton of scrap wood (almost enough to fill our smaller dump trailer) has been sorted thru, lifts of stick lumber and sheet material has been moved and tidied for winter...got more room for snow storage too.
I even partially dismantled the wooden frame that was used to hold the roof metal.
Interior of the Duece Coop got cleaned and restrawed, only have one tote of grains to put by into the feed room...yeh, it has been a complete blur.
Starting to forget what day what happened on but no matter...fact is it is so much has been completed.
Oct 24, 2015
Then, oh by golly, then the real fun parts started to happen once the metal on the roof was up.
Rick sorted thru what was in the building, put it in places he wanted and then the vehicles began to arrive.
The parking IN the Parking Building started to happen. <<can't believe I just typed that out...parking!>>
This is the building with vehicles...yeh I said VEHICLES parked in her. Rick wants his one 1936 Chev Maple Leaf parked in there...should be this weekend we get to see that happen.
He has the tarps to put up, he has power to play with...he has so much fun stuff to do.
Last night, electrician came to do the final tie in...so even the power has been completed (35 foot pipe dug in and cord thru...me on rake duty pulling out 2" rock and piling it along sides and making it all level)...all I can say is WOW...let winter come thundering in...wez is ready and do not give a fig about Old Man Winter's arrival...we beat the deadlines with room to spare.
Oct 20, 2015
This was Oct 20, see that long, long 35 foot length of pipe...don't blink because Rick had her in the ground and buried the very next morning...blighme it is all a blur!
Oct 21, 2015
