Jet black poop, do i need to be concern?

I own a rooster for 7 years. I don't know what type of breed he is but just recently about 4 days ago, I have notice jet black poop. The poop is not green or red to indicate an internal bleeding. However, he does drop the normal greenish poop during the day. His behavior has not changed at all. I haven't introduced him to new food or notice any type of injury but it has me worried. Has anyone had this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If your roo is not exhibiting any other symptoms, and you are seeing regular droppings in between, then these may be just normal cecal droppings. They can vary greatly in color. Access to wood ash is one thing that can make droppings black. I'm going to attach a few links, with pictures, and hopefully that will help you.

Has he gotten raisins or something similar? That makes black droppings...

Yeah he hasn't exhibit any other symptoms besides the black droppings. what concerns me is the color n texture because it's very black n it has a consistency like tar or melted rubber. I think he might of eaten a piece of electrical tape because I was working on a small project last week. We hadn't fed him any raisins, blueberries, or blackberries n we don't have wood ash

Cecal droppings can have that consistency. If he ate a piece of electrical tape, the concern would be a blockage. In which case you would not be seeing much droppings at all and his crop would either not empty or would empty very slowly. If the tape passes, or has passed, then all would be fine. If he seems OK, then I'd just keep an eye on him to see if anything changes. Does he free range? In which case he could be finding berries or something else around that he's eating that you might not be aware of.
