Well, I'm working on it now, as soon as I check Jesse's story I'll get back to writing it.

Chapter 50

As the days grew warmer and the stream in the canyon began to thaw, Nikki was starting to notice that the kittens were growing bigger and bigger. She knew that things probably wouldn't stay this way long, and she knew that she needed to tell Rocket about moving soon.
"Should I tell him now," she thought.
"I should. Now or never." With that, she curled up into a sphinx position next to Rocket and spoke.
"Rocket," Nikki said.
"Yes Nikki," Rocket replied.
"I have some bad news for you," Nikki said.
"What is it," Rocket replied, trying to stay calm.
"We're going to have to move out of the cave," Nikki announced.
"What?!"
"I know, I know! I have the kittens and you have the bobcats, but you know Gingernut, Fenix, Jazzy, and Sunny that I've been talking about lately?"
"Yes?"
"Well, I need to go back to them," Nikki explained. "You see, before I fell down the canyon I was actually searching for two of their chicks. I've known them for a while now, and I just can't stay separated from them for much longer."
"I see your point," Rocket replied. "But... I just feel guilty leaving these bobcats to defend themselves. Do you think we could take them with us?"
Nikki gulped. "N-no. They can't come."
"Why," Rocket questioned, beginning to get suspicious of Nikki's behavior.
"Because," Nikki explained, "Gingernut, Fenix, Jazzy, and Sunny are chickens! As much as I like the bobcats, I couldn't possibly trust them around them!"
Rocket sighed. "I understand, Nikki. Let me work out things with the cats, you get the kittens ready, then we'll go."
Nikki breathed a sigh of relief, called her kittens, and then walked out to the stream.
"Alright, listen closely," Nikki said to her kittens, "this is the canyon and down there is the stream. Now you must never, ever come too close to the edge of the stream. Does everyone understand?"
"What's too close?" a kitten named Jet poked. "Is this? Is this to close to the ed- ahh!"
"Jet, get back here!" Nikki yelled as Jet fell into the stream, but she was swept away by the current! "All of you, stay here and behave while I'm gone! Jet, Jet I'm coming!"

"Jet, I-I'm not going to yell," Nikki said soothingly when she found Jet perched on a rock. "Look at you! Are you alright?"
"Y-yes," Jet meowed.
"Do you think you can follow me back to the cave," Nikki asked.
"Yes," Jet replied.

"Now dry yourself off, like this," Nikki said, shaking her legs and feet.
"Can I go swimming again? That was fun! Haha," Jet laughed.
"Jet! Get in the cave!"

"B-but boss! We'll miss you two," the bobcats said, trying to convince Rocket and Nikki to stay.
"We know! But we need to see Gingernut and the rest of them," Nikki protested. Then Nikki came up with an idea.
