Chapter 46

Nikki was shocked. The edge of the cave was open, down into a canyon of some sort! The smell had ended, thankfully, but… what had happened to Bonnie and Bullet?
“T-they couldn’t have!!,” Nikki said in shock. The bottom was incredibly deep, with clouds miles down… this did not look good!
It was the most terrifying thing Nikki had ever seen in her lifetime. Her stomach flipped, her heart raced, and she began to hyperventilate. She didn’t know what was scary about it… but… there was something… off about it. Her gut told her to run as far from this place as she possibly could, but her ambition told her to stay here and wait for Bonnie and Bullet to come back.

“Well Fenix,” Jazzy said, “it’s the same time as yesterday. We need to go looking for Nikki.”
“Give her another day,” Fenix bickered.
“Fenix, you promised,” Gingernut scolded.
“I didn’t promise,” Fenix argued, “but alright.”
“YesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesYES!!!!” Sunny squealed. With that, they set off into the mountains.

Nikki had been standing in the same place for hours. She was paralyzed. Why was this happening? There wasn’t anything to be afraid of- or so it seemed…
“Nikki,” a voice called. It sounded like Sandy.
“Sandy?” Nikki asked.
“Nikki, it’s me. You’ve got to get out of here,” Sandy warned.
“Why Sandy,” Nikki asked.
“Because,” Sandy explained, “this place is evil. You’ve got to get out of here, or you’ll be the next victim!”
“Of what,” Nikki asked.
“I can’t say,” Sandy replied, “but you’ll die if you don’t get out. Something evil is lurking around here, and you won’t get out alive if you don’t get out now. Now hurry, the clock is ticking!”
These words shot fear through Nikki’s body, but she quickly recovered. “I will, Sandy.” Nikki then started to bolt out the cave, but then she heard something…
