All I can think of is when I knocked my hat off an ran over it with the disk.

The joys of larger scale chicken raising.

BTW, I'll be up in Wisconsin for Thanksgiving. You aren't anywhere near River Falls are you? I could use some good eggs.

We're along the river about 150 miles south of there, just across from the Minnesota/Iowa border.

how about when your neighbor calls and they've got a cow down in the snow up to her leg pits (is there a better word for that?), and they need you to bring your shovel and your muscles and dig that cow out. luckily, I helped them while wearing my mother's coat, so mine smelled fine afterwards. she was horrified.

LOL I love John Denver and all the dreamy songs..

I can relate many of you and the mishaps.

Dad got his old Ford tractor stuck in the boggy bottom of a creek. Took weeks to get it out by hand and ropes until my uncle came out with his big Ford truck with pulleys and ropes and good trees, yep, we got her out.

Got knocked flat several times by ducking under electric fence simply because I wanted to short-cut across the horse pasture to pond to swim.

Hauling out a dead pig out of narrow cow barn, mud and all.

Digging out and dismantling the old outhouse...its a wonder we found some treasures.

Trying to find the septic tank all over the backyard was like finding needle in a haystack. It was almost under the eaves of the old chicken coop shed. The landlord could not remember where the septic tank was...kept directing my dad oh, its here, no, its there, no its there!

Going out in the -10 degree weather trying to fix a broken or weak powered water pump. Later we had to buy the submergeable pump because the above ground pump could not handle heavy duty water going out.

And my favorite of my own doing, I constantly ran over the broken T posts with the riding lawn mower, bent the drive shaft and Dad being upset with me because it cost him money.

Everytime he gets it fixed, I kept running over them!
