Hi going to have ducklings hatching out next week so I’m getting things ready for them now. Are the holes in the wire mash in this cage too big for the ducklings to walk on or is it ok? The holes in the wire mesh are 1/4 inch big. Thank you

Should be. Are you going to have a heat lamp clamped somewhere

Only if you plan to spend the next ten years of your life replacing water buckets multiple times a day, scooping projectile poop for hours a week, and have a plan for what you'll do with the male ducklings.

I hatch and sell. If they're any good I keep (they have to be reaaaaly good, I'm fussy)

I wouldn't put ducklings on any wire mesh bottom like that.. sounds like bumblefoot waiting to happen unless you cover it with a lot of bedding.

Will do. I've never ever had ducks before. I've had hundreds of chickens but no ducks!

You could use straw in there. That's what I did for my ducks but I also had them in a bin so they had somme privacy

No, I don’t use heat lamps. I just use a feather duster, hot water bottles and straw

How long does a hot water bottle last? As in, how long does it stay warm?
