OH my, my EE's only hatched on 6/8. I guess I'll be waiting awhile.

I caught my EE in the act. She's been at it for about a week I just didn't recognize her eggs. I was expecting blue or green instead I got..........

The egg in the middle shown next to the brown eggs from the Plymouth Rocks. A speckled pink egg qualifies as an Easter Egg but I was hoping for green.

Oh for cryin' out loud... I just need to acquire some patience! LOL, my chickens are only 17 weeks old so I know it's probably gonna be spring before I see any eggs from them. Especially since I've decided not to lengthen their day with artificial light.

I do love seeing the pics though, even if I do get jealous

It worked! I complained about my leghorn hens not laying and 2 days later they both started laying! Yay!! This is really great because all the other hens are taking a break.

today makes 23 weeks for my girls. not an egg in sight. my two wyandottes have been really red for a couple of weeks, ohhh i dunno... i dont know if they are laying in the field either... while we are gone for thanksgiving they will live in the goat pen (long story, goats will be at breeders, regular pen is too small to keep locked up all day...) and we will know then if they are laying! i am guessing not though, i am simply not so lucky

I was about to join your club today but I went home at lunch and found 6 new eggs in the coop!!!!! I gathered 1 late yesterday afternoon so I know there were not left over either. YYIIPPPEEEE

So thats 6 laying out of 12 possibles and they are 30 weeks old. NEVER give up! lol

I'm getting a bit impatient with my girls too. 26 hens and only 2 older girls are laying..somewhat. (I guess I have ones that are either too old or too young)
Guess from the sound of it, I might be waiting quite a while for my 22 week old Cochin girls. I know their not suppose to be spectacular layers but I figured between 16 of them a couple dozen eggs is all I need a week. Last time I was in town I ran up a nice little bill a the feed mill and today I had to run in to buy eggs (gasp! How embarrassing)

Then to top it off, one of the neighbor girls came over and said my husband told her to ask me for eggs cause I have all sorts of hens. We had a good laugh when I told her about my pretty ornaments in the coup and about how my husband had no idea what little freeloaders they were.
