Hello,
I set 32 eggs on June 23rd. I am going document and hopefully get some input on how 4 of my little eggs are doing as they grow over the next 28 days.

We will be looking at two Welsh Harlequins (WHTX6, WHMD12), one Cayuga (C3B3), and Rouen (R3B3).

I tried to set 23 eggs before but only one ended up showing any major signs of life then they all got killed at 3-5 days because the incubator i was using spiked. That problem is hopefully solved now and I can watch these eggs grow to be wonderful little ducks.

This is my entire setup with all the little eggs nestled snug in their shells.

C3B3 is the part of the third set of Cayuga's I will have put in an incubator to hatch from a friend. The shell on this egg is blue and it they have proven very hard for me to candle thus far.

R3B3 is another egg I got from a friend and this is the third attempt at it. Even though the shells are an off white color here they don't candle like the Welsh eggs.

WHMD12 is a Welsh Harlequin out of Maryland and was shipped to New York. The air sac on this one looks ok I think. As for the rest of the egg it looks good too.

WHTX6 is another Welsh Harlequin egg that was shipped from Texas. I can see a little tiny spot that looks like a developing dot on this one but the placement of the yolk and the air sac are right on top of one another.

I would love feed back on the eggs. Or anything else that I have said.

I set my Ameraucana and EE chicken eggs late afternoon on the same day. I like your photos of candled eggs; what brand of candler are you using? I had been using my iPhone to candle the eggs my hen was sitting on, and it worked quite well. I bought a proper egg candler at my local farm supply store, but was very disappointed that it didn't illuminate my eggs very well at all, even in a darkened room. I decided to candle a single egg this afternoon, and I can see some development! I'll be following along your journal :)

I am using a 320 lumin led flashlight as my candler got it at Walmart for $15. Works even better with good batteries in it.

Did a day 4 candle because I had to take all the eggs out and shift them to a new turner.

We have veins!
Really good veins in the ones from Texas so far. But I think Maryland is a few days behind. Included are a few pictures. I put two Texas and two Maryland that are showing life.

I am super excited to see growth!

Super excited I did an early candle to compair Texas to Maryland growth wise and found lots of early veining!

Pics included for three of each place. By my current early count last night I have 5 from Texas and 5 from Maryland going for sure. There are a few I wasn’t sure on but I am hoping the turnout to grow too.

I did my 7 day candling. I really am going to only report on the Welsh Harlequin eggs unless something major happens with the others.

So I set 22 eggs as of today I have 5 confirmed clear/quiters- 4 maybes (I am really holding out hope for these little guys.) and 14 confirmed active little ducklings kicking around in eggs.
These are my favorite two from my Maryland Clutch

My phone does not take good pictures of these :(

These are my two favorite from Texas as they are already moving and one I like to think is dancing about in the egg.

I am going to start handing turning them from now on as they have some wonkie things going on in the air sacs. Plus I can talk to them as I turn them :D
