Juice cleanse

My mother and I will be starting a 30 day juice 'fast' tomorrow. We live about two hours from any kind of grocery store, and have no juicer, so we bought a bunch of organic fruit and veggie juice from our food Co-op that is out of Oregon. We have Green veggie juice, Aloe Vera juice, lemon juice, grapefruit juice, apple juice, and I forget what else. We have lots of fresh produce growing in the garden, so we'll probably be doing some green smoothies along with the juice. Wish us luck, I'll be posting back here from time to time.

Nursery, I just got back from there. I grow hibiscus from cuttings and sell liners to other nurseries. It is hard work, and if I do not start my day with juice and have a glass when I get home, then I run flat and crash. I think the only way I can keep this up is to keep juicing forever. There is no going back. Back did not work.

I have been watching the youtubes and I think the omni is the one for me. I hate to have to wait for the rest of the house to bee sufficiently awake for me to juice something. The one I have may even wake the neighbors across the street, so I understand why I have to peal the other members of this household off of the ceiling if I do not warn them that I am going to juice before hand.
Hibiscus.. is so pretty. I think they have to take it in around here ( zone 6) ?? am i right? and what are the liners.?

about the omni. .. Is it this one http://www.discountjuicers.com/lequipomni.html or is there another one.. ?

we ( mom and i ) decided on the vert 350.. ? then i came home and watched his video on "best practices for the vert" and since i have not used a masticating juicer in a long time. Iforgot that you needed to cut things up more.. when feeding the augar ( i dont spell well and neither do my fingers.. ; )

any way.. i canceled the order.. to make sure.. between the vertical or the horziontal.
I wanted her to watch the prep video.. so she know s what shes getting into..
they each do.. different foods a bit better.. but I would like a masticating none the less.
to do the deep greenies.. I'm growing in the garden -

so she says to me.. while watching the how to get the most from your juicer video..
" well it dosent matter that it takes a bit longer.. if it workes like it has been -- i dont mind cutting things up. " Oh will wonders never cease..!!
-------- time out.. my rooster's out the window calling to me.. awhh!! ---

so .. which are you using now.. I bet with the noise factor its a centrifugal juicer.. , mine is -- and it does not do kale and celery.. as good as i would like.
I'm thinking when i up grade.. I may try the green star.. with the magnets..

I'd like to look at the video you have on the omni.. I bet there is more than the quiet that you like..
thanks for understanding ..
and again .. i didnt mean to come off so harsh.. in my last post..

Oh Aspen that's wonderful.. good luck..

we have dandylions.. here.. and the're good tojuice right out of the yard.. if you dont have chemicals..

some good things are still free. ; )

I was listening to the radio and they were talking about roasted dandylion tea and how it is good for women. I want to try some.

Quote: Liners are small cells in a 'flat' and each cell has a cutting. kind of like the seedling packs you get at the nursery, but ours have 72 cells in a flat. We are zone 9/10 and ours freeze, so everything is in greenhouses. I want to move to gardenias so we won't need to heat. I am also allergic to hibiscus, so I am no real big fan of them. I guess I might start hating gardenias if I have to labor over them too. Although when we did African violets, I never got fed up with them. They are kind, sweet, lovely little plants.

The omni I was looking at is a crushing-I suppose that is a masticating- juicer. I would have to have my husband find the youtube again. I know it is on our history, but he was the one doing the searching and having me check out the ones he likes. His theory is he gets more labor from me with less moaning if I feel better- no, not really, he just wants me to feel better. It was comparing the omni and the brevil (?spelling?)
I get a lot of energy from the greens, and I think if I use the crushing one for greens and the centrifuge one for the apples and carrots, I should be in good shape.

I just want ed to post .. an audio.. about heart disease.. and food.. I hope it translates.. to this forum with the links.

Do you know anyone who has heart disease?
It’s the #1 killer in the world. And the fact is, it can be prevented and even cured.

Last year in the 2012 Food Revolution Summit, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn explained, with irrefutable scientific evidence, how we can literally end the heart disease epidemic forever — simply by changing what we eat.
Would you like to know Dr. Esselstyn’s simple and life-saving prescription?
As a special gift, we're giving away Dr. Esselstyn’s 2012 Food Revolution Summit interview! It’s yours to keep right now.

Up date.. on my Mothers.. first week.. ( or 6 days.. ) of juice fast.

6 days.. into mom's juicing.. she has lost 6 lbs..
and confessed that she did not think it would work for her.. ( age old people put on weight.. she says.. )

the roll of fat.. that bothered her under the bra line in the front is nearly gone she says..

and she is now really excited.. about juicing..
the Jack La Lane.. is .. shutting down.. during.. juicing.. and she is ordering a new juicer.
one that can keep the nutrients .. if stored for 24 hrs.. in refrigerator

< me I;m going to bite my tongue.. not saying . .. I told you so.. >

I'll just be thankful. ... that for what ever reason.. that she finally tried.. it. ; )

I know that the 1 lb a day.. will probably taper off.. its alwayse easier.. on the first 10 lbs.. it seems
but I think she is impressed enough.. to continue..
I expect that she will feel better too.. - less headach's.. and "GURD" in the future.

Looking forward to hearing about your results.. Debra

whoa i'm glad your said that..
so what do you mean.. by that.. milder greens..

then only thing i could decern from the video's .. was that the vert,, had just a bit more of a pulp texture to it..

I would really llike your pro's and con's of thhose 2 machine's..
