) of a couple of the eggs that are under broody today (predator attack last night/early morning I'm guessing)... So I'm hoping for something good to happen soon..

The ducks are adorable, LadyBird!! OMG it can almost make you forget how messy they are as adults lol
I've still not heard a thing out of mine. Today's officially hatch day but I didn't put them in the incubator until late at night. My husband thinks he heard peeping in there at 6 AM but I'm thinking he heard the baby Silkies or the Turkeys in the other room haha! I'm not seeing or hearing a thing, Gosh, I hope I didn't kill them all somehow in the ignorance of my 1st attempt

Edit: I'm crossing my fingers for everyone!

@LadyBirdsPalace...that is by far, the CUTEST duckling I have ever seen! Its so perfect it almost looks fake! You mentioned it was a "BO duck"....if we were talking chickens, I would assume you were talking a Buff Orpington. Forgive me, but what is a BO duck?

Hi there, just checking in - everyone decided to POP in for a visit on hatch day it seems. haha

Still at 5 ducks, and have 4 chicks, no turkeys yet!

Hey ryleesmom, that's exactly what it is! A Buff Orpington duck! or they just call them Buff Ducks I guess. Very Pretty, so are the Welsh.

Had a Buff Orpington chick hatch about 45 minutes ago and 2 of the Red Sussex X and then the Ameraucana was first.

YES THAT DUCK IS CUTE, BUT SUCH A BRAT - IT'S UNBELIEVABLE, AND BEEN A BRAT SINCE HATCHING! It's hilarious! My trouble-maker!

My blue japanese silkie hatched, it is so darling. My husband got off work early, I am still at work, he calls and says, what do I do it has the egg still attacked to a little stringy thing and its following the chick around, do I pull it off

Ok, since you are hatching ducks left and right..have to ask a few questions..first pip, yesterday morning. Same size pip this morning, and now. Plus, two more pipped. How long before these babies come out of there?

I see the wriggle when I flash my light on them.
I've heard they can take up to 48 hrs. to hatch...Welsh Harlequins'. Oh, and not due to hatch until tomorrow.

Oh my goodness...one of the cutest things ever! The only chick to hatch thus far has roamed all over the incubator and has now parked himself right beside (and a few times on top of) the egg that is pipping. There is now about a 1 inch hole in the egg and you can see the chick breathing and the chick that has hatched is just hanging out waiting for his little buddy to come out and play!

My eggs started pipping last night about 8PM. I started with 5 Lavender Orpingtons and 5 Black Copper Marans from rockinpaints. All but 2 Orpingtons were still looking good at the last candle. So far today, 2 Orpingtons have hatched and 2 Marans have pipped. I have 7 Sweetgrass Turkeys in the other incubator and just got a box of 16 more Lavender Orpingtons from eBay. Gotta love chicken math!
