July 13, 2011 Hatch Day! STARTED!!!!

Oh my gosh I am freaking out. I know if I saw a little beak and knew it was alive, I would be panicking!! I hope the little thing vgts out. My lockdown day is today. I am so nervous. Just hope everything goes ok. I dreamt last night that I had chicks hatch but when I looked at them they were fully feathered parakeets. Lol! Was that an anxiety dream? Lol

Well I just had another duckling and they're animals! Fighting, all over the other eggs, it's chaos and another is about to bust out...one of the duck ladies says she doesn't leave them in the hatcher like the chicks and pulls them for the brooder once fluffy. I can see why!

I can't believe you put your eggs in the same day as mine lol Mine aren't doing a thing! They may not even be alive though and today's only Day 20.
Was it a Wednesday you put yours in? I wonder why they started hatching 3 days early? I hope at least *one of mine hatched!

But this is strictly my duck eggs!

I did put them in on the Wednesday - my chicken eggs are doing nothing except for that little leghorn and I think it died...hasn't moved in awhile. I haven't even seen any of my chicken eggs wiggle so I'm a little worried about them, I won't lie. Turkeys have been wiggling.

#3 should hatch asap.
#4 has started.
#5 just started wiggling and that's the first I've seen that one do anything

I also snatch my baby chickens when they hatch, because I have mine on the bottom of my bator..I hand turn. I just raise the humidity if it hasn't gone up that much, and hurry and get the baby out. They are all over the other eggs if I don't. The others hatch fine.

I am going to have baby ducks...I hope. I am going to have baby ducks..for sure!!

And I didn't say, they are Welsh Harlequin.

They will! It's all good - we are still ONLY on Day 20, Ksane!

PS - My leghorn didn't make it! 19 chicken eggs left!

Up to 3! Pulled them out of the incubator cause the one in the middle is possibly mildly insane

, and was just knocking everyone else around and going crazy, he still is crazy but has much more room!

#4 and #5 have pipped and all is quiet again in the incubator and I got them out with the humidity only dropping 4% and now it's back up! (Wanted to pull the dead chick egg out).

They are already eating, drinking, playing and SLEEPING!

So cute! My husband wants me to try peacock eggs next. Has anyone ever tried that?
