Yippee! They made it!

Yes, I have noticed for the first day or two most will sleep standing up. They will sleep a lot at first, so that is perfectly normal. Glad our chicks made it. Anyone still waiting?

I'm still waiting.

I had a couple regurgitate water, so I guess it's normal. Actually, it was watery slime!

One did it just as I picked it up--all over my hand! Remember, this is their very first food and water, after a long ride in the back of a mail truck.

My little speckled Sussex that had pasty butt stood by the waterer and drank for at least five minutes straight. She must have been really dehydrated. She was the one with the really wobbly legs, but since she almost drank the waterer dry, she is fine. I was worried about her because she was wobbly and looked like she could barely hold her head up.

WOOOOHOOO, just got my babies from the PO two hours ago. They are all healthy and happy, eating and drinking. I ordered 15 chicks from My Pet Chicken. Very happy with the service. It is so neat to have babies again. Before I know it they will be joining my other girls. Before I know it they will be covered in pin feathers. They are so cute. Will take pics tonight and post. I got Wyanndottes, Welsummer, Buff Orpingtons and Red Star. I ordered Delawares but the Delawares didn't hatch on schedule and I had approved a substitution in advance. I AM VERY HAPPY!!!!!! BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's my tiny flock! (sorry for the poor quality--At the moment I only have an iPhone 3G and my digital camera is MIA)

And the Marans (I think) who was snoozing by the feeder:

The Salmon Faverolle is the only light-colored chick--there's also a Golden Laced Wyandotte, A Cuckoo Marans (Quite a character! Aptly named!), and my tiny EE bantam (who seems a bit better already...) I'm going to name her "Baby Finster" LOL

Only 5, but I find myself habitually counting them to make sure they're all present and accounted for!

I need meds!

Thanks for all the support and comeraderie, everyone! I hope that everyone's chicks still in transit come home to roost VERY soon!!

So glad to hear everyone's chicks are doing good. For those of you who are still waiting, I've got my fingers crossed that everything goes well.

Beautiful chicks!

I am amazed...I've been in the garage all day (much to the chagrin of my other pets)-can't take my eyes off of them!
So precious when they sleep!
Funny how ones that were more lethargic earlier (EE Bantam) are now full of vim and vigor. My poor Faverolle, who was so active, now seems to be pooped out!
...hope she's ok!
