Oh, boy! I'm in too, up to my neck! I have 4 very patient broodies sitting on 51 eggs, ranging in size from Seramas to large fowl Polish (it wasn't supposed to happen like this, but life doesn't always go the way you plan . . . .) Eggs are due to hatch around July 9/10. These girls have already hatched a bunch of Cochin/Barred Rock/Buff Orpington mixed chicks while waiting for these others to get here, who knows how much longer they'll sit? I candled the eggs today, some are definitely going, others I'm not so sure about. In serious suspense here.

I would love to join. I just set 15 Houdan eggs due July 11. I just received 9 bantam Cochin eggs today. 2 of the 9 eggs are smashed and 3 have multiple cracks.

I had to clean these eggs because of the yolk mess. Do I need to do something about the cracks? Should I incubate them? I read at the beginning of this thread about melted candle wax. I have the eggs resting right now. I really hope to get some of the Cochins to hatch.

They will be my first bantams! Good luck July hatchers.

Poularde, I'm jealous. I LOVE houdans. Are they your eggs or are they shipped?

My eggs are all shipped and they come from other byc members. I am excited about the Houdans. They seem like lovely birds.

I have 66 in the bator due to hatch out on the 8th. All but 17 are mine. The 17 are shipped bantams from jennjscott I got on the crazy egg swap chain

I want to join in, but I am still waiting on eggs from the June swap and I have some from my chickens but I want to put them all in at the same time.

I have 5 Blue, Black, Splash Faverolles bantam eggs due on the 1st and set another 13 due on the 11th. I am going to set 6 or so more at the end of this week. I am using both the Brinsea and the hovabator.

i candled the quail eggs last night 2 were infertile of 7. 5 fertile is good

I'm in with my first Broody - and she's MEAN

- sitting on 11 eggs that I got from a neighbor due July 12. I don't have any roosters and he has alot so I'm sure they're fertile.
Should end up with:
4 Barred Rock
2 Americana
3 Golden Buff
2 Plymouth Rock

Any roos go back to the neighbor - I don't want them and he'll take them.
